IPTV on a Formuler or MAG box

Formuler and MAG boxes look alike on a shelf, but they connect in different ways. On a Formuler you log in yourself with Xtream Codes in the MyTVOnline app. An Infomir MAG box needs a portal linked to its MAC address, so you send us that address on WhatsApp first and we send you the portal URL.

Have this ready

What you need depends on which box you own.

  • A Formuler box with MyTVOnline or an Infomir MAG box, connected to the internet
  • Formuler owners: our WhatsApp message with your server URL, username and password
  • MAG owners: the MAC address of your box, which you send to us on WhatsApp
  • MAG owners: the portal URL we send back once we have your MAC address

Five steps, split by box

Everyone starts at step 1. Formuler owners then do step 2; MAG owners do steps 3 to 5.

  1. Find out if your box is a Formuler or a MAG

A Formuler runs the MyTVOnline app and can log in with Xtream Codes or through a portal. A MAG (made by Infomir) only works with a portal linked to its MAC address. The model name is on the box and in its on-screen menu.

  2. Formuler: pick the Xtream Codes API in MyTVOnline

Start MyTVOnline, open the service or portal settings and select the Xtream Codes API option. Fill in the server URL, username and password from our WhatsApp message. The server URL begins with http://, not https://.

  3. MAG: look up the MAC address

Check the sticker under the box, or open the system information in the on-screen settings. Write the address down exactly, colons included.

  4. MAG: WhatsApp the MAC address to IPTVnu

We use that MAC address to set up a line for your box only, and send you a portal URL that belongs to it. Never invent a portal URL, and don't reuse one that was made for a different box.

  5. Enter the portal URL and restart

On the MAG, type the portal URL we sent into the portal or server settings. Whichever box you have, finish by fully closing the app or switching the box off and on again, so the channel list loads.

MAG owners: send us your MAC address on WhatsApp. We set up the line and reply with your portal URL. Please don't try to make one up yourself.

Why the two boxes connect differently

The hardware is similar; the software inside works in a completely different way.

MyTVOnline on a Formuler uses the Xtream Codes API, like most TV and phone apps. You type in a server URL, username and password, and the app collects the channel list, films, series and TV guide on its own.

A MAG box has no login screen of that kind. It uses a portal that is linked to the box's own MAC address, so there is no username or password for you to enter. The link is tied to the hardware, which is why we need your MAC address before the portal can work. Not sure where to look? Our page on finding your MAC address has the details.

Formuler and MAG problems and fixes

The four situations we hear about most on these boxes.

Formuler: logged in, but no channels

Make sure you used the Xtream Codes API option and not a portal or M3U field. Then compare the server URL with our message, http:// at the start included. If https:// slipped in, the app can't connect.

MAG: the portal won't load or shows an error

Check the portal URL for typos and for a space before or after it. If it is correct, the MAC address may not be registered properly on our side. WhatsApp us a photo of the error and your MAC address, and we will check the link.

MAG: no MAC address to be found

Look underneath and on the back of the box for a sticker first. Missing or unreadable? Open the settings on screen and go to the system information or device details. The MAC address is always listed there.

Everything is set up, yet picture and sound stutter

Formuler and MAG boxes both work best on a network cable. Connect the box straight to the router if you can, and if that doesn't help, go through our guide on fixing IPTV buffering.
